SUN and blinkies!

Hiya!  Sorry I’ve been MIA, as usual lol, but we’ve had soooo much going on at SUN these days!  We opened our gallery back up, which mean I had to reinstall new headers all around.  Now we have a gorgeous gallery full of inspiration again though!  We just finished up a CT call and Designer call.  You can already find some of our wonderful new designers popping up in the shop.  Our Sunshine Sweeties will be announced this week and we’re so excited to have them all join our team!  And… I made SUN some new blinkies

We’ve got new Sweetie (and Guest not shown) blinkies, an Admin blinkie for our amazing girls behind the scenes and I just added names to our designer blinkie so they are personalized.  The one shown is for Monica, mgl Scraps a.k.a. Lazy Cow lol.

We’ve got some AMAZING guest designers coming up at SUN.  I’m so excited for them and can’t wait for each month and to have more goodies to play with lol.  We have 3 with us now, one of which is Nicole, one of the lovely original sunshine girls and owner of the digi chick.  Make sure you come by and check out her designs & other guest designers and our new designers!   I have to go get more stuff organized and clean my house a little, later!

Having too much fun!

As if that is really possible lol!  I have however managed to avoid all things not fun (other than work, ick!) so I could spend lots and lots of time creating fun things (fun for me anyway).   I know this is totally not scrapbook related but I have to share!  Also, I have nothing scrapbook related to share so yeah lol you’ll have to deal

I’ve been practicing glass etching and I messed up a few 99 cent candle holders in the process but finally got brave enough to try out something “big” so I etched polka dots on my martini glass:

I didn’t want to do anything too crazy so simple dots were what I went with… but I’m quite proud of myself!   Then my husband was jealous and wanted one.  FYI, he doesn’t even drink martinis lol but I figured what the heck, it was just more practice for me!  I asked him what he wanted and he said sports, then he went on to add the Braves, his favorite team ever.  So that’s what he got…

Cute huh?  I think so and if you don’t just lie and tell me you do so I feel better lol!  You like my homemade “photo shoot”  look too don’t you LOL?  Actually that’s just the arm of my couch that’s leather and the curtain in the back is actually supposed to be brown but the light and my camera made it look black.  It’s the only solid dark surface I could find so you could actually see the etching.  Whatever works, right?!

Well after all of my etching fun and a lot of fighting with my computer programs I made some labels for my canisters.  Actually my NEW canisters because I decided to replace my stainless steel ones…. they seem to attract dust and stainless steel needs special cleaner that really smells bad if ask me so I went for glass.  Plus Hobby Lobby had a sell on all glass items so it worked out lol.  So here’s my new cute canisters:

I sooo love them!  My husband said they were awesome but that’s probably just to make me smile but I’ll take it lol!

I think that’s everything I have pictures of at the moment but I’m sure I’ll bombard you with more later.  Other than my time consuming crafts I went to MS this past weekend to see my family.  My mom’s birthday was Thursday so I figured it was a good time to go visit and see her.  Justin and my brother had fun playing video games like they always do.  I went out to eat with my best friend, Erin and hung out with her for awhile.  I miss her like crazy since we’re so far apart now so I enjoyed catching up with her.  We’ve gone to school together since we were 5 and have been best friends since we were like 12!  It’s crazy to think about and really makes me feel old lol but it’s nice to have a friend like that.   Sunday I went and saw my mom for awhile and visited with my daddy for a minute then we headed back home.  The trips are never long enough but that’s all the more reason to make the trips more often!

As for SUN since i haven’t mentioned anything with it (bad bad me!)  I have been super busy and of course playing with crafts lol and haven’t designed in FOREVER but I’m still at SUN and still part owner.    Mon, my wonderful friend and also part owner, made the very very hard decision to leave Scrapbook Graphics and join us at SUN again!!  So you can now find mgl scraps back home at SUN which is great news if you ask me!  We’re also having a CT call and a Designer Call and will be adding lots of amazing people to our teams!  Lots to look forward to and hopefully I’ll have some new products or at least freebies soon!  For now I’m heading to bed so I’m not a zombie at work tomorrow!  Thanks for reading!

Bad blogger, I am…

That’s Yoda talk for I totally suck at blogging lol.  It’s not completely my fault though, well mostly, but not completely I promise   My husband and I have had a roommate for awhile now and he just decided he was leaving without telling anyone, which I can’t say I’m too sad about.  I was very very sad however that the internet was in his name and after he left he cut it off even though we were the ones paying for it.  So I had to schedule an appointment for them to come out and get it hooked back up and just as that happened we went on a trip to MS to see family and friends.   I’m here again though, lucky for you!

You know something crazy though, when you don’t have internet and internet friends to keep you distracted/entertained you get A LOT done!   I’ve been wanting to learn to make vinyl wall art for awhile now and I finally did, YAY!  I’m super excited about it and just wish I had more places to put it, and that I wasn’t renting!  I actually really enjoy making it, it’s a fun hands on craft which I don’t do much of anymore since falling into the wonderful world of digital scrapbooking.

The first thing I did was make some Twilight vinyl for my car, yes I’m a complete dork I know.. I’ve completely accepted that and moved on haha.  I did go wait in line to see the new movie at the midnight showing the night before it came out and yes I forced my husband to go and yes he LOVED it too    So anyway here’s my dork vinyl:

Sorry it’s a little blurry, I was too impatient to wait to take a picture when the sun isn’t setting.  The cross was actually some left over vinyl that I just threw on my car too   I made my friend one in memory of her dad and it had a thick cross outline and the cross on my car was from the inside of the cut of hers.. couldn’t let it go to waste!  As you can see I’m a *double* dork because I also sport a peace frog on my car, not to mention the Elvis Presley one you can’t see in the picture LOL.

I haven’t put much up in my house yet because like I mentioned we rent a house… Our lease was up June 30th and I wasn’t sure we were staying but we are so I’ll be adding LOTS more to my walls.  So here’s a pic of 2 I have up now:

My walls look really funny in that second picture!  They aren’t quite that ugly LOL.   I’m not real fond of that color because it’s all over the house so I’m slowly painting all of the rooms.  Our landlord is awesome about that stuff and takes any improvements off of rent     I’ve also put a very large cursive L above our bed and I’m going to add our names around it in another color I’m just waiting on that color vinyl to get here in the mail. I’ll show it off once it’s done too lol.

So yeah in the process of being a bad blogger I made some awesome home and car decals and completely finished my bathroom remodel, yay me!   Now I’m so behind I’m off to do some scrapbook designing and get back in the groove at SUN   See you soon!

Well Hello, again!!  It’s early morning here, about 5 a.m. so don’t mind me if I seem a little loopy lol.  I’m such a night owl and my sleep schedule is completely backwards right now, not that I’ve slept much at all!  Anyway, I’m going to show off some adorable products, layouts, and then if you stick around I have a freebie for you!

If you didn’t already know my friend a.k.a. lazy cow a.k.a. mgl scraps (Studio mgl) is a guest at Scrap Orchard this month!  She’s got some great stuff over there you should definitely go check out.  Yesterday she released the cutest bundle (or you can get them separate) It’s packed full of goodies, as her kits normally are!

You can buy it all together or she has smaller bundles and each piece separate as well so plenty of options!  I personally loooove the pink parts and wanted to make Mon sick (she’s not fond of pink lol) by making an allll pink layout!  So I did a challenge over at SUN using the girly part of the bundle and the solids.  The challenge at SUN is a Paper 2 Digi challenge.  There’s some great paper layouts posted from a gallery and you just lift one but do it digi.  You can find the challenge here if you want to check it out.  So this is my layout:

That beautiful little girl is my friend Sarah’s oldest one, Lily.   Sarah is always nice enough to give me a few photos to use when I need some cute kids since I don’t have my own.  I used Sarah’s AWESOME actions on the photos too.  She had already edited them to perfection but I used her Shades of Grey to give them a hint of color I wanted. She has some amazing actions, especially for people like me who just aren’t that great at editing and even for those that are more advanced.   I love them because she doesn’t merge the layers and gives you a chance to tweak things to your liking.  Ooh and there’s some great freebies on her site too so go check em out!

I almost forgot… the other day I played around with some hybrid.  I used this great kit by mgl scraps, also at SO for her guest stay:

She actually used my pictures in her preview where you can buy the hybrid template so I’ll just show you the preview from the shop so I don’t have to hunt for my pictures lol I swear I have too many hard drives and they are totally not organized like they should be…

It was my first time making a bag like that and it was fun. I think I’ll be using them way more often for little gifts!  It was so easy!  I know it’s nothing fancy but I still wuv it
